Bonding with your Baby before birth
Your baby can hear you in the womb, can feel your touch and also feels your same emotions. By sending your baby loving thoughts and energy you are providing your baby with a loving start to life even before birth. You are probably intuitively connecting with your baby in your own special and personal way. Here are a few ideas that may inspire you to connect more deeply with your conscious baby who is wanting to connect with you.
Name or nickname your baby. Having something to call your baby can help you feel more connected.
Talk, sing or read to your baby. Your baby will be able to recognize your voice at birth. You can narrate what you are doing or talk to your baby about how you feel about her coming into your life. Reading to your baby is another easy activity. You can choose a baby book to read to her regularly or you can read things that make you feel good when you read them.
Touch your baby. Intuitively women do this many times a day even before they can feel the baby move. Your baby does feel your touch. As your baby grows and gets bigger you will be able to feel your baby respond to your touch. Partners and siblings love to touch babies and you may even develop your own game of touch and response. Belly massage can be a nice way for a partner to connect with both mom and baby.
Visualize your baby. Take some time to imagine what life is like for your baby right now. Also visualize your birth, the first time that you will see your baby and imagine that wonderful first cuddle.
Relax with your baby. Take some time to sit quietly, holding your belly and letting yourself fill with joy and gratitude. Focus your full attention on your baby and send her all of the love that you are feeling. You can do this when your first wake in the morning, during a bath, or any quiet moment you have during your day.
Write to your baby. This is a beautiful way to bond with your baby and is something that you will be able to share with your child in the future. Write whatever you are inspired to write including how much you love your baby, your hopes and dreams, and about the family that your baby will be joining.
